July 4 is Independence Day in the United States, and it reminds me of what my independence means. It means that I have the power of choice. I recognize that my power of choice is an expression of freedom; but this then makes me wonder, where does my freedom really come from?
I've also learned that while I am free, my freedom is not isolated from the freedom of others. This is where interdependence comes in. I am able to be independent because of my relationship with others. And in as much as my conscious, positive use of my independence can affirm life, so too does that strengthen the bonds of interdependence between myself and others.
Join us tonight at 7pm at the Center as we discuss our independence and interdependence. Bonus: our air conditioning works great! Come cool off and discover your inherent gifts, where they come from, and how you sharing them with the world can enrich us all.
See you soon!
