Energy Flows Where Attention Goes with Edward Viljoen, January 19 2025

This Sunday, I’ll explore the theme, “It Flows.” I’ve been reflecting on the power that moves through all things, including each of us. Life’s creative power, like the electricity that lights our homes, is always present. Yet, it requires our active participation to flow into the world. Flipping the switch is an act of awareness and intention, and it’s a choice we make every day—whether to direct this energy toward creating, healing, and helping.

Together, we’ll consider three key ideas:

  1. Awareness is the Key to Using Creative Energy
Life’s creative power responds to our awareness. By becoming mindful of our thoughts, we unlock the ability to direct this energy where it’s needed most.

  2. Tuning Into the Creative Flow
This power doesn’t discriminate; it’s available to all. What sets us apart is how we engage with it. Simple daily practices can help us align with this flow and tap into its limitless possibilities.

  3. The Power of Dominant Thoughts
What we focus on consistently shapes our experiences. By choosing thoughts that align with possibility, we allow life’s creative energy to flow in ways that uplift and transform.

We’ll also share stories of resilience and creativity that demonstrate the immense potential of this energy when it’s embraced. From José Andrés’ efforts to feed disaster victims to Trisha Prabhu’s groundbreaking work to combat cyberbullying, these examples remind us that the light is always within reach—and it’s ours to share.

As we gather this Sunday, I invite you to reflect on the flow of creative energy in your own life. What are your dominant thoughts? Where is your attention going? Together, we’ll explore how to tune into this power and direct it toward creating a better world.

Join us this Sunday at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AMonline or in person—for an uplifting message, music, and community. Let’s discover what’s possible when we flip the switch and allow life’s creative energy to illuminate the path forward.

Consider this your invitation to connect, reflect, and be inspired. I look forward to seeing you.

Sacred Wednesday Singing Event with Karen Drucker on November 20

A Taizé service is a contemplative, meditative practice inspired by a monastic community Taizé in France. Its simplicity, repetition, and silence characterize it, creating a space for deep reflection and prayer. The service features short, repetitive songs that are easy to learn and sing meditatively, helping the participants focus on the divine. Taizé services often include periods of silence, prayers, and readings. The service intends to foster an experience of inner peace, unity, and communion. Karen Druker will provide a Taizé service for our community on Wednesday, November 20, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Here is what Karen says about the experience: “Music has the ability to bypass the mind and sink into the heart.” Breathing, stillness, rest, calm, allowing yourself to just “be” and not “do” for a little while. Settling into your heart and dropping into that place of inner knowing. With all that is going on in the world right now, give yourself a “time out” and allow yourself to be...
