Karen Drucker at the Center - In Person - Come Sing Together! 7 pm

Something new and exciting this Wednesday Evening at the Center!

Event Title:  “Karen Drucker Sacred Stillness Through Music”

Wednesday, June 28, from 7 to 8:30 pm in the Sanctuary.

We will sing, chant, meditate, listen to short readings, and pray together as we allow our hearts to open and connect with others in our community. This is a free event open to everyone. Love offerings are gratefully accepted.

“Music has the ability to bypass the mind and sink into the heart.“

A musical “concert” that I offer is an audience-participatory event where we sing, chant, meditate, and pray together. This is sometimes referred to as a “Taize Service.” This is a sacred, meditative, musical event where we create a holy space by spending time chanting (singing repetitive and affirmative words over and over), being in silence, listening to short sacred, inspirational readings, stating our prayers or intentions, and just allowing ourselves to “be.” The stage or room is usually surrounded by candles, and the participants walk into the room in silence, feeling the sacred tone that has already been set, and leave at the end in silence.

These concerts usually have four separate themes that we weave together. We sing, speak, and meditate on the themes of stillness, health, love, prayer, faith, gratitude, or anything that may be up for healing. This musical event is usually about 60 to 90 minutes.

"Oneness" - Wednesday Evening Service with Rev. Russ

#1 - Oneness Spirit (whatever we choose to call the infinite “something”) is the source of all that is, and Spirit is all that is. Everything is made of Spirit and is a unique expression of The Infinite. What is Oneness? We hear this word quite a bit at the Center, but what does it really mean, and how is it useful in my life?  These are just some of the questions we will answer in tonight's Wednesday Evening Service as we embark upon our journey exploring the ten core concepts of the Science of Mind and Spirit. Join us at 7pm for music, freshly baked bread and tea, and an inviting community where we will learn all about Oneness.  See you soon! -Russ

"Spirit Is An Artist" - Wednesday Evening Service with Rev. Russ

Every breath we take, every new friend we make; the tallest snowy mountaintop to the darkest depths of the sea--all is an act of creation. In fact, because Spirit is all there is, that means that we, too, are endlessly creating. Whether we know it or not.  In tonight's Wednesday Evening Service, we continue our exploration of the Ten Core Concepts of the Science of Mind and Spirit with the third--the creative nature of Spirit. We'll share in spiritual exercises designed to grow your awareness of your creative nature so you can tap into it to paint the life of your dreams. And all will be wrapped in an atmosphere of music, freshly baked bread, and loving community.  See you soon! -Russ

"Living On a Prayer" - Wednesday Evening Service with Rev. Russ

Whether he knew it or not, Bon Jovi was affirming a powerful prayer in his iconic song, "Living On a Prayer." One of the lyrics goes like this: We've got to hold on to what we've got Cause it doesn't make a difference If we make it or not We've got each other and that's a lot For love - well give it a shot   Whooah, we're half way there Livin on a prayer Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear Livin on a prayer Tonight in our continuing series exploring the ten core concepts of the Science of Mind and Spirit, we will explore prayer--known as Spiritual Mind Treatment in the Science of Mind--and how we can use it to shift our mind from a focus on all that appears wrong, toward a focus on life that is rooted in compassion, love, and possibility.  See at the Center at 7pm! -Russ
