A New Take on Fear - Wednesday Evening Service with Rev. Russ

It has been said that courage isn't the absence of fear, but rather the ability to act even while feeling it. I believe this to be true, but I know there is more to the conversation than that. For example, I wonder how I can develop this kind of courage? And how can I do this without trying to avoid or suppress my fears?

There is a lot in the world that can trigger fear. I've been triggered myself. That's why it's clear to me that the more courage I am able to cultivate, the more I will have the clarity and motivation to act so that I can work to address the causes of my fears.

This Wednesday at 7 pm, we are going to talk about how we can develop courage by looking at fear in a way that that may seem radical--I'm going to share how I've learned to befriend my fears. I invite you to join me in this exploration. We will enjoy music to inspire us, and gentle spiritual practice to open our hearts, with the goal that we find our way to that spiritual source of stability and resolve within, no matter what is happening in the world.

I look forward to seeing you there.

With courage and love,

-Russ

"Living On a Prayer" - Wednesday Evening Service with Rev. Russ

Whether he knew it or not, Bon Jovi was affirming a powerful prayer in his iconic song, "Living On a Prayer." One of the lyrics goes like this: We've got to hold on to what we've got Cause it doesn't make a difference If we make it or not We've got each other and that's a lot For love - well give it a shot   Whooah, we're half way there Livin on a prayer Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear Livin on a prayer Tonight in our continuing series exploring the ten core concepts of the Science of Mind and Spirit, we will explore prayer--known as Spiritual Mind Treatment in the Science of Mind--and how we can use it to shift our mind from a focus on all that appears wrong, toward a focus on life that is rooted in compassion, love, and possibility.  See at the Center at 7pm! -Russ

"Oneness" - Wednesday Evening Service with Rev. Russ

#1 - Oneness Spirit (whatever we choose to call the infinite “something”) is the source of all that is, and Spirit is all that is. Everything is made of Spirit and is a unique expression of The Infinite. What is Oneness? We hear this word quite a bit at the Center, but what does it really mean, and how is it useful in my life?  These are just some of the questions we will answer in tonight's Wednesday Evening Service as we embark upon our journey exploring the ten core concepts of the Science of Mind and Spirit. Join us at 7pm for music, freshly baked bread and tea, and an inviting community where we will learn all about Oneness.  See you soon! -Russ
