Mohammad Jabbari, Founder, Sonoma County United in Kindness Project

After attending one too many vigils and memorials for victims of mass shootings, Mohammad Jabbari was talking with his son Kazem. His son suggested that they do something about the violence by supporting people in being more kind to each other. That was the birth of the Sonoma County United in Kindness project. Since that conversation, more than 1500 persons have signed the  Declaration of Unity  in support of United in Kindness. Cities around the county have endorsed the program with resolutions and proclamations affirming the power of kindness. On Wednesday, September 1 at 7 pm, come hear how the project came to be and how the work of a few dedicated people can change people's points of view. Lunchtime Learning in April. Finding the Heart of Ernest's Teachings, with Rev. Tara Steele, Wednesdays, 12 Noon to 1 pm

Love and Law  is a collection of some of Ernest Holmes's earliest on the Science of Mind. There is a lot to variety, from statements that are "the clearest explanation of Oneness I've ever read," to dogmatic pronouncements, to sentences that invite us to go deeper with reflection and dialogue. Each week, Rev. Tara draws upon one of the essays, using it to launch the discussion. Here's the schedule: April 7     Mind Your Own Business April 14   Relief from Responsibility April 21   Attracting the Great Big Things April 28   Divine Science Although Rev. Tara encourages you to get a copy of the book, she provides quotes for people to explore. Drop in and see what you think. We meet on Zoom, noon to 1 pm, all the Wednesdays in April.  Here's the link:  Zoom for LTL

Lunchtime Learning in February: Black History Month. 12 noon to 1 pm

In 2020 and in the early days of this new year, we have been powerfully reminded that institutionalized racism is still active in our country. Those of us who thought we eliminated racism in the 60s or welcomed a post-racial world with the election of Barack Obama learned it wasn't so. In February, we welcome back Olivia Kinzler, Lawrence Edwards, Celeste Austin, and Calvin Johnson, to offer their reflections on race relations in the United States. Their talks may inform, challenge, and/or inspire us as they speak during Black History Month. Here are the topics for each of the Wednesday lunchtime conversations: 2/3 - Calvin Johnson - Events that have shaped race relations in the    U. S. 2/10 - Olivia Kinzler - Microaggressions 2/17 - Celeste Austin - Black Lives Matter 2/24 - Lawrence Edwards - Reflections on Bishop Michael Curry’s book, Love Is the Way There is no need to pre-register for this group. Simply come to Zoom before 12 noon. You'll find the link on ou
